Week 17

Week 17 flew by!

The Bump

By week 17, I think my bump is mostly imaginary.  Maybe it is a burger?
I must remember to enlist my office ladies in helping me take weekly pictures in front of the same background.  It's hard to tell if there's any bump progress when you're distracted by poor quality selfies in the bathroom mirror with washing machines and drying tights in the background.

Gender - Boys, boys, boys.

Movement
Nope, not yet.

Development
Week 17: Baby is about the size of my palm--approximately 5 inches and 5 oz.  Baby's skeleton is getting stronger, and so is the umbilical cord.

Maternity Clothes
I have a pair of denim shorts I bought with the intention of growing into them for the summer.  They're one of my favorite warm weather things to wear right now, despite still being too big.

Food Cravings
Raw vegetables and dip, sliced apples, french fries.

Work Outs
Shawn and I took a stroll outside on Sunday, but otherwise it was a fairly sedentary week.  My goal for week 18 is to exercise at least 30 minutes on 3 days.

Sleep
I've been having very vivid, bizarre dreams--even more so than usual!  There were only two mornings this week that I woke up before 5am, and I was able to eventually get back to sleep by 6pm.  Over the weekend, I took two naps on Saturday and one on Sunday.  Delightful!

Baby Prep
I received my first baby-baby gifts!  My sweet, sweet cousins and my aunt completely surprised me at a family graduation party this weekend with congratulatory gifts for baby.  Da widdle brioche now has receiving blankets, socks and hooded bath towels.  Add a diaper and it's practically an entire ensemble!

All the little accessories make baby's imminent arrival much more real. So touched by their thoughtfulness.  Now I'm even more excited to get settled and prepare a nursery.

Stephanie also gave me my very first pregnancy gift a few weeks ago, What to Expect When You're Expecting.  I read through it in the bathtub, and read aloud to Shawn in bed to share all the cool things baby is supposed to do in the coming week.  It's been a fun guide and a sweet weekly ritual for us.

Missing Anything
Just turkey sandwiches.

Thoughts & Feelings
When will my belly actually pop?  How can October seems so close and yet so far away?

Looking Forward To
Planing our Gender Reveal party.  We bought our invitations on Saturday.  I'm reaching maximum cuteness overload from all of the ideas I've seen on Pinterest.
